Each entry must include:
- A written motivation (500–1,000 words) clearly outlining:
- the challenge or opportunity addressed
- the initiative undertaken
- the outcomes achieved
- relevance to the category
Optional Supporting Material:
- up to 5 high-resolution images (JPEG or PNG)
- a 1 – 3 minute video (MP4 or YouTube link)
- client testimonials, media coverage, or performance metrics

- Can I enter more than one category? Yes, as long as each entry is tailored.
- Will entries be made public? Only summaries of shortlisted entries and winners will be published.
- Who judges the entries? A panel of independent industry experts appointed by SEIFSA and the Judge’s decision will be final.

Additive Manufacturing – BRICS+ Award
Recognises: Outstanding use of additive manufacturing (including metal 3D printing) by a company based in a BRICS+ country. Eligibility:- must be headquartered in a BRICS+ nation
- project must be implemented (not conceptual)
- innovation in 3D printing technologies
- industry relevance and measurable impact
- scalability and potential for replication
Best Customer Service Award
Recognises: Exceptional service delivery, customer satisfaction and relationship management. Who should enter: Companies that have implemented service strategies resulting in demonstrable improvements in customer engagement and/or satisfaction. Judges will look for:- innovative service approaches
- tangible improvements in customer retention
- testimonials or satisfaction metrics
- 51% or more women-owned or managed companies
- nomination may come from the individual, a colleague, employee, or client
- nominee must agree to the nomination
- motivation covering:
- educational and professional achievements
- overcoming personal/ professional barriers
- industry innovation and contribution
- leadership and reputation in the sector
- nominee must be available for an interview if required
- number of artisans trained
- role of artisans in business operations
- measurable value and success of the training intervention
- programme objectives and outcomes
- long-term community benefit
- alignment with company values and business purpose
- company mandate and values
- description of the CSR initiative and its impact
Most Innovative Company Award
Recognises: Companies that have applied new processes and/or developed products to improve operations, cut costs, or gain market advantage. Eligibility: Open to all companies in the metals and engineering sector Judges will look for:- use of technology to optimise and enhance product offering
- improvements to business processes, production, or customer engagement
- value to employees, suppliers, or customers
- unique value proposition of the innovation
- motivation detailing the concept, impact and success
- evidence of deployment and transformation
- nominee must be available for an interview
Environmental Stewardship Award
Recognises: Projects or practices that demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. Judges will look for:- the environmental challenge addressed
- design and implementation of the intervention
- tangible outcomes and improvements
- resource management achievements
- integration of environmental values into company management
Workplace Health and Safety Award
Sponsored by the Rand Mutual Assurance Prevention Programme Recognises: Best practices, policies, and outcomes that have improved employee health and safety. Judges will look for:- identification and mitigation of significant hazards
- new or improved health and safety processes
- cultivation of a safety-first culture
- regulatory compliance and enforcement
- demonstrated employee engagement in safety
Young Entrepreneur Award
Recognises: A youth-owned and managed company (under 35 years old as at 31 December 2024) that demonstrates growth, innovation, and job creation. Eligibility:- 51% youth ownership
- operating for more than 2 years
- certified ID copy
- business history and development from inception to 2024
- CV summaries of key personnel
- description of innovation, sustainability, and job creation
- youth empowerment efforts (max. 2 pages)
- nominee must be available for an interview
Terms and Conditions for Participation
- Entries deadline – 25th October 2025
- The awards are open to any institution or entity meeting the entry requirements.
- Entities throughout South Africa may enter any category relevant to them.
- All applications need to be supported by relevant documentation.
- The judges reserve the right to cancel any category due to insufficient entries, or for any other reason, and the decision of the judging panel is final. The decision of the judges will be final and binding and no correspondence in this regard will be entered into.
- Entrants will be published on the SEIFSA website site.
- The information received by the organisers may be submitted in its entirety to the publisher of any industry-specific publication, both digital and printed, for inclusion in the publication and entrants should be mindful of submitting information that might be sensitive or confidential as it will be in the public domain.
- Entrants are reminded that the information they submit will be accepted verbatim by the
- publishers and therefore should be checked and approved by all parties prior to submission.
- Entrants should be aware that their information will undergo an editing process, necessary to ensure that both entrants and category winners can be accommodated in published material and presentation applications.
- Entries must be emailed to the advertised email address. All written copies must be provided in MS Word. All photographs must be labelled and titled.
- Entries must be submitted on or before the final day for submissions.
- Finalists may be subjected to site visits by adjudicators.
- Winners will be announced formally at the SEIFSA Awards for Excellence event, 20 November 2025
- SEIFSA reserves the right to cancel or postpone the awards event or change the venue or format of the awards event for any unavoidable reason. All changes will be communicated effectively.
- There are NO FEES payable for entries.
