Johannesburg, 27 January 2026. The Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (SEIFSA) invites interested  companies to submit expressions of interest to participate in a fully funded 2026 Climate Readiness Pilot Programme.

The programme, funded by the Danish Industry (DI) in partnership with SEIFSA is designed to support South African manufacturers in understanding their greenhouse gas emissions profile, building internal capability and preparing for emerging global climate-related compliance and competitiveness requirements.

The programme will be delivered using a fit for purpose South African developed Climate Fit Tool, an online platform that will enable companies to input emissions-related data, develop a baseline, and engage with structured technical support. Technical and one-on-one project management support will be provided by Brundtland Consulting and Impact Strategy Consulting. All delivery partners will operate under SEIFSA’s oversight and in accordance with agreed contractual arrangements.

How the process will work

  • Interested companies must complete an online expression of interest form via the link provided below.
  • All companies that submit an expression of interest will be invited to a group information session, where SEIFSA and the technical delivery partners will explain how the programme will work, what participation involves and the different levels of support that will be available.
  • Following the information session, companies will be asked to indicate their sense of readiness and level of support required.
  • Based on this process, a shortlist of participating companies will be confirmed.

Who should apply

The programme is open to manufacturing companies in the metals and engineering and related industries that are interested in improving their understanding of emissions, strengthening internal capacity and participating in a structured climate readiness programme.
